Looking at physical activities for support staff to implement on the playground

Making Lunchtimes More Productive

About this course

Pupils learning does not stop when they leave the classroom. The time spent on the playground is the perfect opportunity to use guided play to learn:

  • continuous behaviour expectations
  • how to self regulate their behaviour and learn about risk taking during play
  • how to work together, especially if they lose, and understand that everyone makes mistakes

In many schools football can dominate the playground but not all children enjoy the activity. Our team of trained sports coaches can give playground supervisors ideas on varying physical activities, for all ages and abilities, and support them in finding the best way to implement these activities on the playground.
