I have worked in education for over ten years. During this time I have completed various qualifications and training, including level two in understanding children and young people’s mental health, level 3 in supporting teaching and learning in schools, Higher level teaching assistant status, Emotional Literacy Support Assistant training (ELSA), and vast training in supporting children with SEND.
However my working life began very differently, studying a HND in Business Management, Animal Science and Animal Care, leading to further qualifications in veterinary nurse science. I trained and assessed student veterinary nurses until I started a family. I absolutely love animals, particularly dogs. I have a cockapoo and labradoodle at home which are my personal wellbeing coaches!
I then worked in catering management until I trained as a TA. One of my hobbies is cooking and baking.
My ELSA and SEND work in education fired a passion for children’s emotional wellbeing and mental health. I have pride in that I can make a difference to a child’s education and school life by providing emotional support coaching.
I am also an Education Welfare Officer for VIP.
